The enduring legacy of Star Wars and heavy metal music was on display in all its glory at the Factory Theatre in Sydney, as Galactic Empire played a set of note-perfect John Williams compositions to a small but enthusiastic audience on Thursday night.

What started out as a joke for the Pennsylvania-based metal musicians has since become an international touring act, already with two studio albums already under their belt.

Speaking backstage for a video interview with The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, lead guitarist (and Darth Vader impersonator) Chris Kelly said that learning the complex scores to the Star Wars movies came naturally to the seasoned metal performers.
