The death of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actor Brian Tarantina last month was caused by an accidental drug overdose, the medical examiner’s office in New York has ruled.

Tarantina, 60, was found in his apartment in Manhattan on November 2. At the time, his publicist, Laurie Smith, said he died of “complications from a severe health crisis he experienced a few months ago.”

On Wednesday, the city’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner said in a statement that the cause of death was “acute intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl, heroin, diazepam and cocaine.” Smith did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

Tarantina’s body was found after police officers responded to a call at roughly 12.40am that reported an unconscious man in an apartment in the Hell’s Kitchen neighbourhood. Officers said they found the actor unresponsive on a couch and pronounced him dead at the scene.
