The dust has started to settle in the wake of the latest breakfast television mass extinction at Nine, and the reverberations are rocking some of the biggest egos in the game.
On Friday morning, 2GB and 4BC announcer Steve Price was informed by his recently installed boss at Macquarie Media, Tom Malone, that he would not be remaining in the same afternoon slot in 2020, with former Today co-host Deborah Knight taking over the reins.
Price had initially been offered an unspecified role with Nine for 2020, however it appears by late Friday afternoon he had opted to resign, becoming the latest personality to depart the station, following the likes of Chris Smith and Ross Greenwood.
Knight has been a regular guest host with Price on the talkback station for months. But the move to radio does not mean the end of her television presence, with Knight continuing to fill in on Nine as a newsreader.
