After the screenings, guests headed up to the balcony to kick up their heels overlooking Bondi Beach on a summery night, enjoying slices of Doughboy pizza. The festival continues in Sydney until January 19 before hitting the road and travelling interstate for 50 dates and various locations.

SIX, a smash hit on the West End and now in Australia

The new British musical SIX – about Henry VIII’s six wives – is kicking off an Australian tour, which opened at the Sydney Opera House on a balmy Thursday evening.

Stars of stage and screen attended including Studio 10 host Angela Bishop and daughter Amelia, comedian and performer Tim Minchin and wife Sarah, actress Marta Dusseldorp with daughters Grace and Maggie as well as RuPaul’s Drag Race star Shane Jenek – who was unrecognisable when not dressed as his alter ego Courtney Act.

The cast playing of Henry VIII’s wives – Loren Hunter, Chloe Zuel, Kala Gare, Kiana Daniele, Courtney Monsma and Vidya Makan – received a standing ovation for their stellar performances, wowing the audience with stunning vocals.

The tour will move Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre from April 23 and Adelaide’s Her Majesty’s Theatre from June 11 as part of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

True History of the Kelly Gang premieres at picturesque harbourfront cinema.

The crew behind Stan original film True History of the Kelly Gang turned out in style on Friday night at the premiere event on the harbour at the Westpac Open Air Cinema.

Director Justin Kurzel was joined by stars Essie Davis, Orlando Schwerdt and Sean Keenan, along with writer Shaun Grant and producer Liz Watts to celebrate the launch of the acclaimed film based on Peter Carey‘s Man Booker prize-winning novel.

Joining them was a collective of Australian entertainment heavyweights, including Joel and Nash Edgerton, Brendan Cowell and Damien Walshe-Howling.​

Also starring George Mackay, Charlie Hunnam and Russell Crowe, True History of the Kelly Gang shatters the mythology of the notorious icon spanning the younger years of bushranger Ned Kelly’s life to the time leading up to his death.

IN: Morning Wars,  guilt-free binge-worthy Summer viewing. If you thought The Today Show was a trainwreck this show is for you.
