Playwright Jane Harrison is used to the waiting game. The Melbourne-based Muruwari descendant, known for her plays Stolen and Rainbow’s End, endured a particularly long gestation for her latest The Visitors.
“I did the first draft of the playback in 2011, but I found some notes in my garage that went back seven years before,” Harrison says.
“It’s been a splinter in my mind for all that time. It’s a foundation story really and we’ve never heard that story from the Aboriginal perspective.”
